Testimonial Debbie Munro

My name is Debbie Munro.  I have a wonderful family of four kids and a wonderful, supportive husband.  I like many mothers after having kids was falling into a downward spiral with my self esteem and fitness levels.  I felt horribly heavy, sluggish, and out of shape after my fourth child.  Even though I made my self go to the gym in spurts I had gotten myself in a rut and didn’t know what or how to do something about it.  I would workout a couple times a week with little direction and thought I should be getting good results from that.  When the results didn’t happen I became frustrated and would quit until I felt so horrible I would try to do something about it again.  My eating would go down the tubes also whenever I felt like this and it became a vicious cycle that was taking me nowhere but further from my goals.  I would look at pictures of myself and that would push me further into a depressed state.  Finally, with the help of my husband and a trainer he had worked with before, I decided to do something about where I was headed.  My husband contacted the trainer and his name was Dan Sprinkle.  Dan called me and we ended up meeting at Maximum Fitness which is now Integrated Health & Fitness.  Dan listened to my dilemma and somehow he felt confident that I had potential to look the way I wanted to but I needed direction and a plan.  Dan taught me the importance of a sound nutritional approach.  Not to extreme but sound nutritional advice.  He always has said that the nutritional intake is the very foundation to which everything else will work from.

He devised resistance training programs for me that where strategically designed to help me reach my goals and to take in account my unique structure and pick exercises that would be safe yet effective.  He taught me the importance of connecting with what muscles you’re working and without that the workout will be much less effective.  The words control, slow it down ,and squeeze are in my mind forever. The joint problems I had when I worked out on my own magically went away and my strength levels skyrocketed.  He taught me how important strength training is to everyone and especially women because it keeps the muscular system and skeletal system strong.  He taught me to learn about how and why I want to do resistance training and/or cardio and the differences between them.   That cardio really is not the best way to burn fat but a very precise combination of diet, resistance training, and cardio was the key.  He taught me to

workout smarter not harder. Unfortunately, Dan says the fitness industry is full of misinformation, lies, myths or whatever you want to call it. Now I  really understand the truth about getting fit and am empowered to achieve what I want as long as my goals are reasonable.

Well since my first encounter with Dan I have profoundly changed my body and feel incredible.  I now love working out and can’t believe how much I didn’t like it before.  He even has to get on me for doing a bit too much at times but WOW when you get results it really fuels the fire.  I am so motivated now that I have now competed in NPC Figure and Bikini competitions and have done well in every one I have been in.  This last year I won the Bikini division in the Masters Ronny Coleman Classic and placed well in 3 different divisions at the Europa show where I competed with women close to ½ my age.  I am so happy with these accomplishments but more importantly I am ecstatic about where I am physically and mentally.  Meeting Dan who now owns Integrated Health and Fitness was the first day of the rest of my life.  I am thankful for what we have accomplished and look forward to the future.
